Hi guys,

This is a poem that I wrote in first class but I think it’s still worth reading, enjoy

Medical Love

Within a dissecting room filled with formalin
A girl stole my heart and even my spleen
I loved her at the very moment I have seen

She asked for the name of a structure
But I couldn’t tell was it the radial artery or ulnar
As I kept thinking of how nicely she moved her finger

She never gets a sandwich of beefburger
For fear of Taenia saginata being the visitor
So I buy it in front of her to show myself stronger

One day I bent to get her a pen has fallen
She said, “Your L5 could have been broken”
“She cares for me”, that idea warmed a heart was frozen

I consulted my doctor who said at the end of session
“It has reached the lymph nodes, it’s a love infection.
Removal of the heart is the only option”

I decided that tomorrow will be the day
To tell her about my love that will stay
And I prepared the very beautiful words to say

I practised Yoga for three hours at least
I prepared as if tomorrow was the feast
I prayed more times than the population of the east

I had tachycardia on seeing her, my tongue locked
I forgot everything so I never talked
I just said, “Hello” and walked

Finally, with broken words and sweat secretion
I offered my love putting no condition
She said, “You weren’t in the anatomical position”
