I was the person who invented the expression "HAB RAGGY" to describe trivial, unimportant and useless information in 1983.

It is meant to describe useless information, for example names of very rare syndromes.

Every iraqi knows the saying "mathal" that says "ydawir bil*** hab raggy"

From this "mathal" I took the words of "HAB RAGGY" and started the expression myself.

Everyone at work found it quite amusing and very descriptive and useful. Soon, we were usining it widely in Rasheed Military Hospital where I used to work in the 1980s.

My question to you guys and girls is: have you heard of this expression "HAB RAGGY" to describe the same thing? I am interested to know whether it has caught up and been widely used amongst you.

Please let me know you answers

What a shame.
Ydawir bil**ara hab raggy is quite expressive and funny phrase.
It is a shame that people have stopped using it.

I remember a phrase that youths (I was one of them) were using excessively in 1971 - 1973.

The phrase became extinct quickly in around 1974 and never been heard since.

It was a phrase that we used to say when someone becomes angry.

We say in a little shout: "بارود "
After a short pause, this is followed by another shout : " سكين و ملح"

I have heard the 7ab Raggi thing, to refer to unnecessary medical trivia. I remember hearing it from an older colleague.
So you must be happy! the expression survived.

I wonder if you'd put that on your CV? bcmf/thinking.gif

lol

p.s: how is سكين و ملح related to بارود ????
