Hey nader, welcome to the Forum , i have just graduated and my bro is in Australia, he is a medical graduate too.

i was wondering about how competitive the residency programs there, as the medicine, surgery or the subspecialities with regards to international medical graduates like us? can we get the speciality we want based on our qualifications or is it too difficult for international medical graduates?

and the other thing is:
does the AMC exam results matter in getting a good speciality or not?

dear brother,,,,
First u have to know, to be specialist it will take lots of time becuase u need to go through all the steps from internship to junior resident then locum ...then the secialty...hard way but worth to spend ur effort to be a real human and real doctor.
so think first about how u enter the medical system and put ur leg inside .
to enter the system u will need to pass the amc ,sure the higher the mark u get in the MCQ exam the more chance u can enroll in more respected hospital ,just like iraq,higher marks go to Madena AL tib while the lower go to Joadeer hospital (a.k.a Ecuador i think its name al emam ali hospital).
but only thing i can say ,this country is very good espacialy for doctors

first the good news is Canda and Australia made the same mcq exam is valid to the both countries,like if u take the amc for australia u can bypass the mcq exam for canada.
all ur graduation documents are wanted specialy the over wall degree JEDAREEA and the degree with ur marks,and g passport
u have to go australin embasy to make certification of ur papers or i think u send it with someone to jordon or any palce to do it for u

both australia and canada are wounderful choices,it just depeand if u have some relatives or friends in this or that countrey
