Providing Syringes For Addicts, yes or no?

Hello my friends...

Drug addicts suffer in so many ways, some are linked directly to the substances they abuse, but also a great deal of their suffering is caused by the contaminated syringes they use from a person to another which help spread alot of diseases, Hepatitis C, AIDS & others.

Some people are calling for free syringes to be given away in all health centers to help those people who can't take the step to join a rehab, to help save their lives by decreasing the risk of infection.

This is a very controversial point, because on a hand you're helping save lives, but on the other you're helping people to break the law and harm themselves....

What would you choose? and why?

and i believe that any disease will find 100 way to spread is not depend only on contaminated syringe.

قبل ان اصوت عله الموضوع احتاج ان افهم شي
السؤال تعني بيه انو نوافق عله ان يصبح تقديم الحقن النظيفه للمدمنين شي مباح قانونا لان معروف انو الطبيب او الصيدلي او العامل بالمجال الصحي اذا ساعد المدمن عله تعاطي المخدر او قدم اله تسهيلات يعرض نفسه للمساله القانونيه واحتمال يسجن يعني تسال عن تغير مثل هيج قانون بحيث يصبح الطبيب قادر ان يعطي الحقن للمدمن بطيب خاطر ودون مساله قانونيه

او

تسال انو اذا تعرضنا لموقف شخصي من هالنوع اجانا مدمن يريد من عدنا حقنه ننطي او لا؟؟؟

بالحاله الاولى راح اصوت بالرفض لان هاي بيها تشجيع عله الادمان خصوص وانو احنا نعرف المكانه الاجتماعيه الي للطبيب في قلوب الناس فاذا صار الحال انو الطبيب ينطي الحقن للمدمن بطيب خاطر راح نوصل رساله خاطئه لعامه الناس انو هالشغله مو خطره او سيئه
هذا فضلا عن انو راح نفتح باب للمطالبه بقوانين من هالنوع
يعني يجي فد يوم واحد من المتحذلقين يكلك اني ليش امنع الادمان هاي حريه شخصيه واني المفروض ماادخل بحريه الناس
او يجي واحد من تجار الادويه يكلك المدمن صار مدمن ليش اخليه يخسر امواله وحياته ويصرف كل الي عنده خلي اوفره المخدر بسعر بسيط حته لا يخسر كل حياته
قصدي انو راح افتح الباب لنظريات غريبه عجيبه من هالنوع

وبالحاله الثانيه اذا مريت بموقف فد يوم في مستشفى او صيدليه او بمركز صحي واجاني مدمن يريد حقنه المفروض احاول امنعه او اتصل بالشرطه بس اذا ضاقت بيه السبل وصرت انو اما انطيه الحقنه النظيفه او اتركه يروح يحصلها بطريقته هو بهالحاله اعتقد راح انطيه الحقنه كتصرف شخصي من عندي لان مالايترك كله لا يترك جله


عزيزتي دكتور كاظم اني احييك عله هذا الفورام بس اني اريد اعرف شلون اكبر الكتابه وشلون الونها مثل باقي الاعضاء لان بصراحه كل مااحاول مدا انجح ومااعرف اذا الخلل من عندي يعني اني مااعرف شلون اكبر الكتابه او انو اكو شي لازم اسويه اكون ممنون جدا اذا احد علمني

Well Precious I'm talking about what you as a person and a doctor would want to do, regardless of the what the law says.
Laws can change, we can change them, and I'm not referring to the law in this particular case, I'm talking in general.

I agree with you regarding the "weird theories" you mentioned, I'm more of a conservative person but I also believe in personal freedom.
To be honest with you I still can't decide upon the question I asked myself... I voted YES but I'm not totally sure... it's a tough decision.

I'm sad and sorry to read what you wrote about addicts not caring for their lives! do you mean that if someone doesn't care for his/her life others shouldn't care!?
Where's your role as a doctor? where's your role as a life saver? where's your role as a HUMAN?

i am against..

if we say (yes) then we are simply making the process easier......instead we should be making it harder........

i think that some of the reasons why addicts quit is that they cant find clean syringes........

you cant help anyone unless he/she wants to help himself/herself...........yet you do care about them ..thats why you shouldnt give them clean syringes...........
as adoctor you do care about people...but its ((useless)) unless they do care and help you to make their lives better......

from my humble opinion this is apartial victory which will lead to anational failure.

اتمنه اكون وضحت الصوره لان المفروض المدمن وعامه الناس يعرف انو هالحاله خطا وخطره جدا ولازم منسهللهم الشغله ونعمل عله تثقيفهم بخطوره هاي المسائل


وحته عله مستوى الموقف الشخصي الذي ذكرته اني والي انطي بيه الحقنه النظيفه للمدمن هم يتغير بتغير الظروف يعني اذا اجاني ثاني يوم واستمر عله هالحاله متصور انو عنده مصدر ميخلص لازم افكر قبل ان استمر
واحتمال يجيب غير ناس عليه هاي حاله هم لازم انتبه الها
وهم اذا عرفت انو اذا تركته ومنطيته راح يروح يبطل لان ماعنده مصدر اخر


يعني كحاله عامه هي مرفوضه بس تبقه المواقف يحددها الطبيب بظروفها ويتخذ القرار المناسب

hi all

i see a nice civilized conversation here

i think our rule as Doctors, providing clean syringes, which everyone can get from anywhere ! is the not the choice ! .. may be a simple person can think this way, but not us ..
instead, when we catch an addict, our rule comes in helping him quit his addiction, by providing the right medical Rx for addicts .. & thank God we have free medical services in our country .. dont you think its a positive point we can use for the benefits of the others ?
