World Health Organization's Ranking
World's Health Systems

I know what you're gonna say, Morocco and Oman have better healthcare systems than the USA bcmf/joker.gif !!! But you're gonna have to put in mind that these data doesn't stand solely for the quality and advancement of healthcare, this ranking was compiled as a measure of a number of other data and scales such as:
-Government expenditure on healthcare per capita (That's why Oman, for example, is 8)
-Government expenditure on healthcare/Gross Domestic Product
-Number of doctors per 1000 of population
-Number of hospital beds per 1000 of population
-Time of waiting for trauma patients, transplants, surgeries..etc (That's why UK, for example, is only 18)
-Cost of healthcare versus income (That's why, for example, Cuba is an impressive 39)
-Availability and cost of private or government-funded health insurance (That's why USA, for example, is only 37)
-Availability of healthcare facilities to population all over the country
-Life expextancy
-Advancement of biomedical research and medical education
-As well as of course the quality of heathcare

I believe Iraq could have been higher up the rank, I really see our healthcare system a good one, would have been much better if it wasn't for the bad management and corrupt administration.

Given the circumstances, it's not too bad.

And for those who were surprised to see USA ranking relatively that low, please watch the documentary movie "SiCKO" by Michael Moore, it's an eye opener.

Thanks for the info m7md... keep it up bcmf/thmbup.gif

I was very impressed to learn that we're ahead of Latvia, an EU member and South Africa. Both have a GDP per capita 5-6 times higher than ours !!
I believe the quality of healthcare in Iraq is good, the cost is relatively low, and the no. of doctors compared to population is fair.

hi all,

last week i saw aprogram on cnn by dr.sanjay gupta , the program discussed the same issue ..............

this list depends on (as mohamed said) on cost , and no. of population that is covered..(whom do have health insurance)......

true....but when it comes into quality , and waiting time ...the u.s. will come in the top 10 ...............
for example if you have money (rich) and you want to get ahealth care then you would get it with in 2 weeks in the u.s. but you will have to wait for up to 6 months in the u.k.

i think if the list to depend on quality we will be down even more...........simply because our education system is zift ........... no equipments,,no commitment in the studying process through out the six years ,every one want only to pass . not to learn.

well this vid. will show you why france is on the top ....
