Yaba I saw this video which was really interesting and made me try to find out more about this movement and I found that "i7na feen wil dunya feen"

No seriously now... this is a wonderful thing and I loved to share it with u:

The Free Hugs Campaign is a phenomenon which involves individuals who offer hugs to strangers in public settings. It began in June, 2004, and was widely publicized in 2006 by a music video on YouTube. The campaign is an example of a random act of kindness, a selfless act performed by a person for the sole reason of making others feel better. The original organizer has stated in interviews that the purpose is not to get names, phone numbers, or dates.

The story started when the founder of this movement returned to his hometown, Sydney from London and found that everyone had someone waiting for them, to welcome them, to hug them, to make them happy... almost every one apart from him and this made him to feel very lonely, so he took a cardboard and made a sign written on it "Free Hugs" on both sides and went to the busiest streets in Sydney and people stared at him for so long and then finally a woman stopped and hugged him and told him how this made her feel better as well.
So he ended up starting this movement that goals to cheer the people in the street and now it's a world wide phenomenon....

Seriously talking... let's identify and try to resolve the "why not"s of such an act?

fast & simple reply ..

mainly coz of religious & social reasons, that such a thing can not be possible in Arab world ..

but if you think of it .. its an innocent move to do .. so it would be so beautiful .. but ONLY if it was innocent ..
& because you can't garantuee that ALL the intentions are innocent .. this will be an obsticle definitely ..

for me i would do it only with people i trust & can feel comfertable that they will not get me wrong .. but of course i never offer the first move lol ..
this is my opinion .. but its not always possible to achieve ..

so when a big part of our society can't accept shaking hands with the other sex, how can we expect it to allow hugging! I think our society is a sexual one, sex is the 1st thing we think of, women r sex objects and any touching with them is a sexual act and so it is forbidden. this is the mentality of most of us.

another point is that we r mostly a society that doesn't like display of emotions, feelings r out of equation, better leave them unexpressed, we just bottle everything.

i love this free hugs movement, i think it's great, we r humans and sometimes we need a hug

جوابا على سوال كاظم راح اذكر حادثة صارت وياية قبل سنة من كنت طالب.......

جنت راجع من الكلية الظهر وبما انه بيتي بالسيدية فطريقي طويل واحسن شي اقضي وقتي بيه هو ان اسمع اغاني بالطريق فدائما بجيبي احط ال ام بي 3 بلير وبالطريق واني راكب الكيا اسمع الا ان اوصل .....بهالطريقة هم اتونس وهم ما احس بالوقت يعني استغلال الوقت خاصه انه الدراسة بكليتنه متنطيك وقت تسمع وتتونس براحتك

اني كل مرة من احط السماعة باذني اشوف ناس تستغرب .....مرات يكتفون بالنظرات الغريبة او التعليقات ببيناتهم ومرات يسالوني شنو هذا موبايل ؟.....عبالك اني جايب شي من المريخ.......ومرة ما انساها جان اكو 3 شباب طلاب كلية لابسين زي موحد كامو يصنفون عليه وكل شوية يذبولي حجاية مثلا شنو هالزلم مال هالوكت وشوفو هذا الخنث ومن هالحجي السخيف اني تجاهلتهم بالبداية بس بعدين مكدرت اسكت ومن الغضب رزلتهم واني مجان المفروض اندك بيهم لان الواحد لازم يبعد عن المشاكل بس شسوي يعني طكت روحي........

جان اكو يمي واحد ديدخن وملاها للسيارة دخان والعالم كلهة تكح ومصنفو عليه بس اجوي عليه اني الجافي خيري شري ومحد بحالي شفوفو الجهل......كلتلهم بلة هذا الرجال اليمي ملة السيارة دخان والمرة الكدامي تكح وطفلهة يكح مابيكم نخوة وغيرة ورجولة صارلكم ساعة تصنفون عليه مكدرتو تخلوه يطفي جكارته؟.......هاي رجولتكم تطلعوهة براسي؟.......

بصراحة ردت انكتل وورة محجيت تندمت بس الله سهلهة وعبرت بدون خسائر

اذا الشرقيين بسماعة باذنك ميخلوك تلبس او لبس شوية غريب ميتفهموه وهاي كلهة اشياء بسيطة وما بيهة احاسيس شلون راح يكدرون يتفهمون رغباتك الانسانية وياخذوك بالاحضان؟..........ترة هذا طلب مستحيل؟............ترة ذولة اشباه بشر ماريد اكول غير كلمة حتة لايزعلون الشرقيين ويسووني ابو لسان طويل وللاسف اني وهواية من امثالي مسجونين بين اشباه البشر ....للاسف

it is not only our society who think this way .. the Western society also thinks this way, even more than we do .. but the difference is that they are opened to such acts even if they indicated a sexual meaning .. they dont mind it really .. or lets say most of them dont ..

my point is .. instead of accusing our society with being restricted .. try to dig deep & see the real reasons behind each idea .. & then compare it with the opposite idea .. & choose the one which suits you the most .. according to your own philosophy .. as long as you are satisfied with your principles ..
