Hi guys this is samer qutaiba [ i am a final year student] i wanted to share with you the best surgery books that u guys could read instead of the lectures but without much effort. Coz the Short Practise of Surgery by Baily and Love's is big and u guys probably dont have enough time for it.

When i was a 4th grader i read NMS Surgery which was great in GIT surgery and Endocrine Surgery and the Breast and others it was really great, perhaps a bit short in UROLOGY but otherwise awesome. ITs almost as big as the lectures but more neat and if u guys find anything in the lectures interesting u can add it to the book. Cost: about 13 thousan Iraqi Dinars.

I recently read a little of Essentials of Surgery and i found it very very nice. Its just as abig as the lectures and i think it woul be also great if u guys read it. I dont know how much it costs but u can always look for photocopies.

There is also the Washington Manual of Surgery which is also great.

P.S.: all the three books are available in the College's Library and u can definitely check them out before buying them.
and always remember that reading a book is much much better than lectures coz they almost always have mistakes in them and u can get to know alot of things through books and u have to prepare yourselves for the Sixth grade in which u r inevitably supposed to read a book not just lectures.
