LECTURES "wama adrak ma lectures.. waghaf'n.. na3as'n.. *9ojat'n.. la manfa3t'n"
seriouslly... what is the benefit of entering lectures?
is there any benefit? I dont think there is any. so if you see any benefit EVEN A TINY ONE tell us about it.
By the way, I hope that this topic will change the mind of those who insist to enter ALL the lectures. wink.gif

WELL I AM NOT FROM THOSE WHO ENTER ALL LECTURES ,BUT THERE ARE LECTURES THAT DESERVE TO, THERE BENEFIT IS THAT IT GIVES U A GENERAL IDAE ABOUT THE SUBJECT SO THAT WHEN U MEMORIZE IT OR WHEN U BEEN ASKED IN THE COURSE (PRACTICAL) ABOUT IT U CAN ANSWER WITHOUT READING THE LECTURE ALSO IF U DID NOT CACH UP TO READ IT BEFORE EXAM U CAN ANSWER A GENERAL LINES FROM WHAT U REMEMBER IN THE LECTURE U ENTERD THAT IS ALL ..........I AM WITH U ABOUT IT BEING BORING AND DIZZY BUT (C'EST LA VIE) AND THANKS.

Surely,I am with entering lectures:

for two reasons:

1.The informative advantages of some lecs (as Ali adil said)
2.Lectures without advantage(ofcource to some students) can be entered to avoid
the disadvantage of being outside (touring!).

dear Hugelephant biggrin.gif .....
u r right about some points regarding attending the lectures but there is a point, as i know u r in the second grade bcmf/passifier.gif (just joking) but what am saying is that your subjects r already boring ,it's not a matter of attending the lectures or not even your practical work is boring and not very useful as i think but when u enter the real life of medicine and clinical subjects (4th grade wa inta 9a3id) u will have fun with your subjects they will be more interesting and u'll fell that they r closer to your life as a doctor....so the attendance of lectures will be of good benefit believe me...i know i talked too much but i hope the idea (wi9letlek) bcmf/thmbup.gif

I totally agree with Bilal, and want to say that basic sciences are really important, don't ignore them coz you'll be sorry later. You'll feel "trapped" coz u can't compensate for ur lack of basic info later on when u want to study well, if u get what I mean?

I agree with Ali here and wish to add that entering some lectures really gives u the sense of commitment and sometimes gives you a great wahis to study smile.gif ...and for the 2nd year i remember some of the physio lectures were so interesting.. bcmf/thmbup.gif

hi hugElephant ...

if u r in the 2nd stage as the guys r sayin ... then i know y u r feelin bored in lectures ... coz u may think that the basic signs u r takin now r of no benefit ...

so i wanna tell u that those basic signs r sooooooooooo important in ur next stages & u gotta understand them so well if u want things 2 b easier 4 u in ur future study ... as Kademad said ... bcmf/yesss.gif

do u believe that i am now gonna read the Anatomy of the upper & lower limbs 4 my orthopedics cource i am takin now unsure.gif ... i have 2 study in Grant's again ... ! ... & also from time 2 time i pick up my Grant's when readin other lectures ...

not only anatomy ... but also the Physiology is sooooooooo important 4 u 2 compare between the normal & abnormal functions later ...

Histology ... u will need it in pathology in th 3rd & 4th stages ...

Embryology comes on mentionin in our lectures from time 2 time ...

& so on with the other basic sciences ...

so good luck hugElephant smile.gif

Hi HugElephant,

Well, I want to say too, even if lectures are boring, sometimes you feel SO GOOD about yourself to remember a topic of biochemistry that was mentioned in the lecture later when you have to study BASIC science for exams that you may need to do after graduation. Sometimes few words would be useful to help you remember the topic you will need to revise.

And besides, if they are too boring, I suggest you try to see the clinical point of view of certain topics...and this would be found in some for example USMLE MCQ...

You can go to the library and ask for some MCQ books or clinical MCQ that connects the boring side of our informations with some clinical notes...that would help you keep the information and attend the lectures more willingly...

THink about it....maybe you enter a lec, go home see some MCQ points of CLINICAL points about the lec u entered...and feel GREAT about yourself....then you will feel greater perhaps when you remember the info later at 5th year in Medicine or any.. cool.gif

Hope that helps.

thank you all for your advices.
and as you said Udaisa sh7achany!
I know you all know what you are talking about but the thing you dont know is that I hate medicine in the first place! I know you might be surprised BUT its the truth.
and what increases the problem is that doctors are "shayleen khashemhum" no offence, and they are really really boring.
I hope there is somebody who might understand what Im saying.
BUT after all what had I said; I think the most convenient reply was that of Bilal thanx alot.
and to you Udaisa I think you went nuts dude, what had they done to you man?!
thank you all again.
