HI Bilal,

Well I think we read whatever we can. IF you can read the topics they give you in session in Davidson, GOOD for you.
IF you can read it in a mini book just a sample....that's good too,

If you read only the notes you take....might be useful.

BUt...YOU HAVE TO READ. biggrin.gif

Does that help ?? ph34r.gif

I just tried to!

Dear Dr Bilal,
I'm going to tell you what rheumatology course filim was last year, hoping this would help (if the department didn't change the style).

* Medicine course mark = 10%, 1/3 of which (around 3%) for Rheumatology
* The exam is 10 True/False statements with a 1 for 1 penalty.
* The main source of the exam statements is what's been said by the examiner in his own sessions.
* In exam, the 2 groups were denoted A & B, A examines before B with separate different questions each.
* Exam takes place at the discussion room (where sessions are held). With less than a minute per statement. It's so easy to cheat.

* My own experience with reumatology course:
- The course was in the beginning, about the same time as yours. I never attended any session. The whole group attended.
- Of the 10 statements, 5 were about Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), 5 were about Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Both SLE & RA were discussed with emphasis in the sessions.
- I answered all the 10 statements, with 6 right and 4 wrong (ie, deserved 2/10). Examiner, Dr Mohammed (as I remember) gave me a passing mark (5/10) in order not to be "Neshaz" among others who got 7 or more.

* Filim briefly: to have a high mark,
- Attend (or at least get what seniors say and focus on in the session (they adore their speech).
- Read Davidson's but don't go too deep or far (just essentials). I went too far and got confused. You know, seniors like what they say, not what Davidson's says.
- Many others cheat.

* Questions I remember:
- Drugs side effects (eg methotrexate, penicillamine, cyclophosphamide, steroids)
- RA, F:M ratios, percentages
- RA, Diagnostic criteria
- RA, sero +ve, -ve
- SLE, types, criteria, "AntiDNA Abs", "ANAs", with incidence (eg 90% or 85%?)

Good luck. Best regards and wishes.
