Did anyone heard about ANP??
It is atrial natriuretic peptide... I am sure you've read one line about it... but let me tell you this interesting physiologic fact that you'll never the mechanism of action of this hormone By the way this peptide is secreted form the Right atrium and respond to strech and increase salt intake I am sure that you've heard by this action and for this reason you remember nothing cuz you understand nothin ok let me simplify Suppose today you've got your marks and you passed the year with great scores...you want to forget these bad days of the test and relax,,,so you went to the swimming pool and suggest only to relax there...so you emptied your bladder that is not to get out from the poop for at least two hours but as you emersed in the water...after 5 minutes you felt you bladder is full again !!! how come !!! Did you experienced this before ??? and for this reason, the babies pool is always......... ok the reason after this is the ANP this hormone has an ankowen relationship with the strech receptors of the carotid body in the neck...so when you emerse your neck in the water, these baroreceptored will be streched and therefore increase this peptide along with renin-angiotensin and ADH inhibition....so there is inhibition of Na and water reabsorption....so you feel that you need to ................. Hope this phenomenon is clear and you remember ANP...and never forget it especially when you went to the swimming pool !!! |

the clinical significance of atrial natriuretic peptide is that sometimes it's secreted when there's supraventricular junctional tachycardia and so the patient will complain of palpitations and polyuria
