Hello...the following is what was mentioned by Dr.Sarmad concerning the damage of the dominant and non-dom. parietal lobes...


Dominant parietal lobe(left) damage:
1. Rt. hemianasthesia,rt. hemiparesis,rt. homonymous hemianopia,loss of optokinetic nystagmus.
2. Spesific for the dominant parietal:
-Gerstmann syndrom:agraphia,acalculai,right-left disorientation,finger agnosia.
-Dyslexia.
-Tactile agnosia.(i.e. bilateral agnosia).
-Bilateral apraxia.

Non-dominant parietal lobe(right) damage:
1. Lt. hemianasthesia,lt. hemiparesis,lt. homonymous hemianopia,loss of optokinetic nystagmus.
2. Spesific for the non-dom. parietal:
-Anosognosia:the patient forgets his/her left body side.
-Dressing apraxia.
-Visuospatial disorientation.
-Constructional apraxia.
