hi all Dr.s,
we took in neuromedicine, a lecture named " Demyelinating Diseases", it was mentioned in the Clinical Features of ACUTE DISSEMINATED ENCEPHALOMYELITIS and ACUTE TRANSVERSE MYELITIS the following ( extensor planter responses are common ) , what's that?? also, what is ( paraparesis )? hi Loay and Sarah
actually paraparesis means weakness in the lower limbs only not all the limbs. and it's a motor weakness not a sensory loss. and extensor planter reflex is when the big toe goes up (dorsi flexion) on stimulating the sole of the foot (babinski sign) which indicate upper motor neuron lesion. hope that's useful smiles |
