Well guys, I'm in the 3rd grade now bcmf/passifier.gif and I'm really excited to learn this stuff...I've been told that Pharmacology is a very boring subject and that you may get confused by the names of the drugs, their action, side effects...etc...
Although it's a very important subject clinically..

I'm wondering if u can tell me what is the best way to study Pharma, I mean should I totally depend on the lectures? and so on

p.s: don't expect me 2 enter more than 40% of the lecs smile.gif

bye

dear M7md,

the best thing to do with pharmacology is to make mnemonics of the drugs' names and the side effects maybe too. the lecture-writers will for sure write many drugs' names wrongly so i suggest u study both the lecture and the book that u had from college, it's a good one and mostly u'll find it more brief and organized than the lectures.

the pharmocolgy department is a good one, they're organized and know how to make good exam questions.

attending the lectures is certainly better but i don't think it adds much to your knowledge.

Well, you will certainly forget the names of the drugs later on, you'll hold on to approximately 60% of the names, if not less.

But the good thing is that the drugs u need will be mentioned to you later on throughout your study, and you'll learn the names eventually.

My advice is not to focus that much on mere names, focus on the families of the drugs and how they work, the names will be memorized eventually.

Good Luck bcmf/thmbup.gif

hi
pharmacology its not a difficuilt subject as u expect ,but u should know how 2 read it especially there s 2 kinds of questions in the exam (matching, MCQ)&(explaining one) which is more difficuilt 4 me, cuz in the 1st one the information is infront of u & u need 2 memorize it so reading the lecs is enouph 2 answer this q.i want 2 say if there s not enouph time 2 (thfid) all the lecs just read the rest .
i agree with kadim when he said the knowlege of the families & their action is a ggod way.
ty 4 all
