Hello Allawi
Carter's grandmom has what is called Shy-Drager syndrome which is is a rare, progressively degenerative disease of the autonomic nervous system. It is named after Dr Milton Shy and Dr Glenn Drager, who identified this syndrome in 1960. It was officially deprecated as a disease entity in 1996, and existing cases were redefined as multiple system atrophy with autonomic phenomena. The name "Shy-Drager syndrome" is still used occasionally for multiple system atrophy when the primary symptoms are autonomic failure. A notable sufferer of Shy-Drager syndome is the singer Johnny Cash. (the medical info r taken from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shy-Drager_Syndrome) (Wikipedia ROCKS! Now, your second question, the med student has a psychiatric problem in which she causes those wounds to herself (something known as self harm, helps to relieve stress in such troubled people), this is probably because she has a history of emotional abuse by her parents and because she's under alot of stress since she's studying medicine AND law at the same time. They injected her with haloperidol which is an antipsychotic drug to calm her down. I hope this was helpful for u brother |

You're most welcome guys, but I didn't diagnose anything! Carter said that they're suspecting Shy-Drager to dr. Lewis, then he said it again when he was talking to his grandmom about it too.

hi ali
his grandma has what is called(shy Dragger syndrome )i don't want to embaress myself but i guess it is some sort of variety of parkinson+hypotension which lead to syncope attacks...inused my memory sorry if am wrong but i'll check it now the girl is having what is called (جروح ترددية)it is either due to trying to commit suicide (it is a usual finding)cause usually the person will not have the gut to killhimself from the first time or it is just to relieve the pain of thinking by deviating the person thinking of problems(make the brain distracted ) it usually gives to the person relieve by stimulation of pleasue pain complex.... p.s these things happened in psychotic patients and i think the gave her some tranquilizer i hope you got benefit from what i have said Take care Farah Baha |

it is called ZANAX or Xanaxit is aloprazolam(the scientific name)
Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine anxiolytic commonly prescribed as a sleep aid and for the treatment of anxiety disorders. It is considered to be one of the shorter duration benzodiazepines. and it shouldn't be used with alcohol thanx Farah Baha |
