Hi everybody, just few notes for today's lecture:

smile.gif it was the first lec of the year, dr. Zakariya was really nice.
smile.gif he talked about plastic surgery and mentioned that it's not mainly cosmetic, it's usually reconstructive.
smile.gif the most important tissue to deal with in PS is the skin
smile.gif blood supply to the skin is the main judge for the success or failure of transplant
smile.gif he talked about skin grafts, mentioned that we should know them since we took them earlier bcmf/thinking.gif
smile.gif talked about "reconstruction ladder", beginning with direct closure->skin graft->skin flap->free tissue transplant->microsurgery
smile.gif flaps have the main difference of having the pedicle of blood supply.

This lec is one of a seried of 4 lectures

take care

i know that plastic sergury is important......but it seems to me that last year's surgery lectures were more interesting ....although as i'v known recently that simple plastic procedures are one of the responsibilities of the rotator,,,,,so PAY ATTENTION you never know when you'd need such knowledge... sad.gif
