Volunteers

HI ,
for the past two years ,i heard many of our collegues become volunteers in the teaching hospitals before the ta3een..

my question is:
does it really helpful?&what are its benefits ?

I'd be so thankful..

There's a benefit from it,even if a lil bit..

you know .... you will be able to live your future but without any responsibility or any obligation as the Interns have.

you will see how you live your day,how spend your night awake for silly complaints.

you will be able to get mingle into the system,get known by many residents there,that you might work under their supervision.

Finally, you will be oriented for many things especially whether you will like your place or not....your career or not....which is the utmost important.

Wish you all the best of luck cuz you seem so optimistic and so anxious to start practising medicine .... hope that great flame won't be extinguished for any reason.

For any assistance,I shall be glad to offer whether here or in the hospital , I'm ready to serve by all means.

ps: why you're so hasty to start working ??? once you start you will beg for a moment of sleep ...lol

i'm not willing to start practicing soon cuz i'm sleeping 14/24 hrs /day

But i heard that it might be substracted from the time of residency,so i thought it might be helpful in that way...

if it is not,i'd rather get more sleep

I'm afraid it will not be deducted from the residency interval ,
in fact it happened for only one volunteer ( NO NAMES ) who happened to have some connections in the highest offices.
But all the other volunteers worked without deduction at all.

I'd rather prefer if you sleep 48h/day
