well of course the vaccine is not for the cancer itself but this is a vaccine against human papilloma virus (transmitted sexually) which is the cause of most of the cases of cervical cancer.
it was invented some months ago in the states and it got approved by the food and drug administration.
what's interesting though is that some conservatives there said they're afraid that this vaccine will make teenagers think sex is "safe" and so may increase sex among teenagers.
