This topic is directed towards a few number of members; movies buffs !!

It's pretty clear from the topic title...A lot of movies have been overrated by different wayss: by winning awards that they didn't deserve, getting high ratings from movies critics or fans, or by grossing too much money from the box office or rentals. And vice versa.

So what movies do you think were overrated or underrated ??

For me, one of the most overrated movies is War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise, this one grossed 591 million dollars worldwide (all-time no. 32) !!!!
And I think that's one of the most absurd ironic injustices.... I even think it's a shame that the name of a great director like Steven Spielberg who has directed masterpieces like Saving Private Ryan & Schindler's List would stick to such a bad movie ...
Another overrated movie is Casablanca which is actually pretty great and did deserve to win the 1943 Oscar but still is not good enough to be claimed the best movie ever !!!

On the other hand, many movies like The Legend of 1900 & A Love Song for Bobby Long has been unfairly underrated maybe becasue of bad advertising !!!

OVER-RATED :
-TITANIC .. this movie is all-time number one in making the biggest income or profit world-wide .. over 1 billion $ .. and i think it wasnt that big for me !! and i sure dont enjoy seeing again by all means

WHAT ELSE ?? THIS IS FOR NOW .. I JUST NEEDED TO SHOW HOW MUCH I DONT APPRECIATE THAT MOVIE : P

&the other one for me The Lord of the rings..it was really overrated
