dear doc
i am sure that the asthma and steroid are not related to BMS....
you had to check other blood cells
as he has favisim,,,,,there is high susbtability to have aplastic anemia....the question is ,,,what is the MO that is responsible for causing aplastic anemia in these pt...and what does they do in normal pt ????
Good luck for the post exam test LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

hi dr lolita smile.gif ,
it's parvo virus. in normal people, it causes common cold and sometimes the "slapped cheek syndrome". in people with spherocytosis and sickle cell anemia, it causes aplastic crises wink.gif but i think it's temporary, right? i'm not sure

take care

Dr.Lolitairaqia- 07-02-2007
u r absolutely right
it is also called B19 virus
