i think we should keep this site for us who is in baghdad college of medicine ,,,
we are already too much and if we open it to all it will be too large and we cant even know to whom we are talking or who is talking to us ....
and of course it will lose the title cos it should be called in another name for the new people that will join ....

well guys ...i really hate to have the same discussion over such a simple issue or a fact every now and then.... it is a very simple thing ...if u leave ur house door open u can have a very nice and good people in ..so , do u keep ur door open ??!! of course not ..it is ur home for ur family members ..u can't have strangers ( no offence) in ...

i know alot of people are nice ( obviously like our friend here) but it is just the general idea that counts...it is a forum for the Baghdad College Of Medicine students.. we can't have other students here (not good ones nor bad ones) ..not because we don't want them to see our private discussions or topics , although it is a legal execuse for us , on the contrary we are proud of it and would love to show others this house of ours...but again it would be out of the original frame and can hold alot of consequences ..for now at least ...

surely we can't ask the already in guests to be out , specially when they are honest enough with us ...but i think we need to stress on all the members not to invite their friends in ...this simple procedure can help alot in keeping this thing moving on...


try to think for the good of the public not of urs ..

well, for me , I think that this website is for Baghdad students only if they want to see it , we should make a part of this web free for all students , that's my opinion, hoping this web be the best

think that iraqi guys are really in need to be subjected to the topics we discuss in our wonderful forum.....it would be beneficial for 'them' to improve what has been corrupted from the cultural point of view....

but still think its a kind of private ; we know each other and know the extend of the topics and points of views dicussed....but cant ensure this if it comes from outside this group...

so.......the middle is the answer.......i mean not bad for 'them' to see what we discuss but never to participate...!!!

there r many forums that students from other collages can participate in becides we already know each other and i think this forum will lose it's privacy if other's registerd moo ?!!

Solving a 'problem' works by targeting its roots, & our problem is that students of colleges other than ours register, WHY? because they want to see the site.
In the two occasions in which we faced such a condition, both members were trying to see the site, and since it was not visible to them they had to register!
Now, if we let them see it, they would not have to! and then the problem will subside from the roots.

I can't say "all", but most of the forums around the internet are viewable to guests, but guests can not participate till they register.

To satisfy you dear friends and to work along what you have chosen, the site is now visible to guests, but posting is restricted to registered members.
Registrations are now manually approved, only by me if I'm convinced of the ID of the person trying to register, which will further ensure the privacy of the forum.

This system enables me to assign members to different groups as they register, which in turn will provide a basis for the other suggestions made by some members, as creating a new group for other students from around the world or such.

Now, the guests CAN do the following:
-View the topics.

The guests CAN NOT do the followings:
-See members avatar.
-See members signatures.
-Add topics.
-Add replies.
-Vote in polls.
-Browse the members data.
-Upload files.
and so many other restrictions.... simply; guests can only see, and not even all of what you, members, can see!


Hope this works for all of us, insha'a Allah.


p.s: If you don't really like the idea of losing the privacy to viewers, well, think of the privacy that could have been violated by the easily registering (members), and remember that our college is a part of the whole community, if you are afraid of bad people from elsewhere, well, they could just be among us (lasama7 Allah).
What I'm saying is that being a medical student in our college doesn't mean being a saint or something! right?
