It's been ages for me since I've been here or wrote anything anywhere in this forum but I'm glad that I'm back and I'm glad that I've found people still using it.

What I really wanted to propose to you here is something very simple and very helpful ...

what I want you to do is to think with me on different levels and different aspects of how can we improve our college life , our facilities ..

Don't hesitate to send any idea , just think of something acheivable that can solve a specific or multiple problems in your perspective !

Considerable amount of money can be available incase we have a solid idea for what we wanna do !

So go ahead my friends , brainstorm with me ....

1. think of a problem that you want to fix .
or
2. give an idea of something that you think could improve our college life , socially or educationally whatever it is .

what we need to come out with is a better educational system and better enviroment in our college !

thanks 4 this nice topic we need it really..i have idea but think we cant make it couz no one listen 2 us...we need free hours in our collage so we can communicate with our lovely friends and improve our social system,inside that we will attend lecture and improve our knowledge since we have rest hours that we can enjoy it....
side effect of this idea:
1-increase time we spend in collage
2-reach our home at 6 P.M may be(u know y??)
3-no time 4 studying since we r exhausted

so that hope we can do some thing 2 make this idea or other one come true..

I am very glad that some ppl are still having the spirit to make things better and thats all because CHANGE WE NEED |o|

anyway , we 're graduated now but still our souls are linked to the lovely college so wewill be more happy to help u out to achieve any simple things thatmake the college and students better!

For me , and i dunno if it is possible , i guess our college need to have the College Day ( which should be chosen in convient time to all students , graduates to particpate in ) .. in this College day we can do Books Fair just like the old day , some meetings , lectures of some imp graduates or even important personnels in society , and even some prizes for whoever deserve !
The benifit of such a festival i guess is to bring our college into the spot light , both locally and even worldwide , encourage the students into some useful time consuming activity and lastly we need to be pioneers in activity so others follow our footsteps !

I know it could be hard to achieve all because students are busy with other things especialy the older grades , yet , our college deserves that , and in Baghdad Univ some other colleges are doing that already so why not the Medical one?!
I had this idea for some time and just wanted to share with u , and hopefully it gonna come true oneday!

I have another idea but it concerns the scintifical side of our college,i talked about it once in our lovely forum..
there's something in Al-Nahrain Medical College called مختبر الكفاءاتthey teach the students practical things as injections,foley's,intubation,PR,PV,episiotomy...etc
on plastic dolls,so when they graduate they already know those things which are considered simple &important for a doctor to know...

so,if there's really a considerable amount of money to help, i think it can help in opening such a lab in our college too..
I know the huge number in our grades ,but if any group entered the lab once a week,they'll learn something which would help them after graduation..

Hey there friends !

Brilliant Idea Omar !!! We do really need that ... a college day where we can perform several activities that could probably give us plenty of opportunities to perform several activities where we can prove ourselves to our new students , al 3amada and for the rest of the institutions anywhere !

And it is actually something that we can approach without needing lots of resources , in fact .. we can get pretty much everything from the college and students !

Young medical students are holding activities no matter how small they are , all the time in their Universities and they're considering them as great acheivement regarding their capabilities and it's true ! so why can't we do the same ?!

Riyam , true sometimes we feel like we're out of time

What we also need , is to organize our "get together " events , assemble our thoughts into something innovative and acheivable in the same time !

for example take what we have done couple of years ago in the (Book Project) that was considered as a big acheivement for all of us and you can check what I and a team of student have done while I was in duhok last year here (yty.faithweb.com) too !

Sarah , Those skill labs are going to open soon in our college too ... they've finished supplying the college with those equipments as far as I know .. and they will be teaching sixth year medical students soon in those Labs.

I want to ask you something else too , do you know like how many students are checking in here everyday ? do you think that we can do a poll may be for example to check how many students approve the "college day" intitiative ?

i'm really glad they're opening a skill lab in our college too...

&about the number of members logging in,sadly it's decreasing everyday&i donnu why many of our collegues are opening the BCMF as guests not members

So,about your poll,
although i'm sure most if not All of our collegues will say a big yes to it,I think u can do it in the college.. put an ad. &tell about the project &that u are making a poll for it in the forum so they may log in & vote...

I think it's really nice to make a college day when we can do and see many activities especially the Books Affair idea ( I like it ), i remembered in Baghdad College we were doing school day every year and there was so much fun & knowlege.

Okay ,

- So , college day is a great idea ... but can you think of other events that we could throw in our college ? or probably a sustainable project to help out our college or our students ?

- Someone was also suggesting to hold -in association with an active local NGO- workshops for the students about developping the health care system in our country.... so what do you think of that idea ? do you think that students would respond to this ? do you think that it would motivate them to even do more ?

-another question that I need you to help me out with :
what kind of activities that we can do if we hold this "college day" exactly ? like imagine the students coming to college from early morning ... what would make them enjoy this , yet we're spending few money .. or at least we're using our recourses ?!

Would love to know your answers ...

Hello again friends..
I am glad that u liked and agreed on my suggestion ,
for some details of ( college's day ) that i dream of is :

1- The college grades may make some football teams that play for the college chapionship and the final game should be on college day ( that is the league start some 3 weeks earlier and the final on that day )

2-We can make a moderate size platform on some nice place of college like ( infront of Iraqi medical board or just beside the anatomy building ) , we can use this stage on that day for students who have some musical activities , poems , jokes , or even statements of professors or for giving rewards for some students or even pioneers of college ....

3- students who have drawing talents , photographing activities also may have their own gallery like in Albakir Hall ...

4- sure the book sales also important part and many bookshops would like to participate in such occasions ...

these are some suggestions i hope u agree on , and u can see that they wont cost much like if u take 2000 dinars from students would cover the cost ..
+ such an occasion would be good chance for having some donations for the college's programs ....

also i think there could be some kind of rewards for the students who got the highest marks in each lesson...In bacteriology,pharmacology ,pathology,they put their names on the walls,we can also reward them in front of all the collegues...

Another thing that came into my mind,
as u know our oath will be in the coming few days,i heard that the robes are so bad &the previous year graduates didn't wear robes!(donnu if that's true or not)but if it was,i think the most beautiful moment will fade away..i really dreamt of throuing the hats up after the oath


that'll be nice...mo??
so can't we buy new robes??i know it'll be too late for us but inshallah not for the coming graduates

i salute the "College Day" idea 100%
it can be the start key for further work !

a friend of mine gave me an idea .. which is making a Health & Sport Club .. a gym like place ..
Baghdad University in Jadrya & Nahrain Univ. got this long ago .. so why not making one in our college ? .. that we can share with Dentistry College as well !

i want to hear more from you guys ..
