Hi dear docotrs and especially the second stage
i want to ask what do you think about this type of diet..and explain why from physiological point of view...
suppose you are doctor and your patient came to you and she was very happy with her diet...she said to you that she lost two dress sizes...
you was eager to hear from her about her diet, and asked her: can you please tell me what did you do or eat???
she said proudly:
in the morning , I eat nothing just a cup of tea,,and do you believe doc. i can drink it without sugar
for the lunch i eat only that green healthy stuff...what do you call it !! Brocli??
but for the dinner and enjoy with my family by eating a full dinner ,,, chicken , potato, bread and everything
and here i am ,,, i lost two dress sizes....

..............
what will you tell your patient??? Bravo you did the right job or you did a mistake and explain to your patient why??? as she is educated...

waiting for your answer
by the way...here are some correct definitions
diet: eating healthy food even if it is more than the normal amount
fasting: between meals
starvation: missing a meal

Right Sarah

I don't think this is correct, she is not supposed to miss a meal; I think

It would be better if doctor Lolita solved the question for us smile.gif

ok doctors
the high caloric intake of the night will increase the insuline release and that will result in increase the gulcose uptake by the fat cell and TG building..as the glucose is omportant to convert the short chain TG to long chain TG (which is the storage form of lipid)...so this lady will store fat at night and becomes FATTER...
in the morning there is complete depreviation of food....this is the reall defenition of stress...this will result in the release of stress hormones (which are growth hormones, glucagon, epinephrin and cortisol) all these hormones will utilize glucose not from the fat tissue cuz they can not...so they will release glucose form protein...this will lead to protiolysis and loss of body protein...
at the end of this starvation...or DIET as she calls it...you should tell this lady that she is FATTER than before...cuz the ratio of fat to protein is increased !!!
did you ever think of the physiology and biochemistery in this way ??? as this TA7SHISH !!!

I think it's wrong cos the sugar must reach the circulation 2 the brain nearly all the time & she must have well balanced diet contain good amount of calories ( she can reduce her fat intake )

& it's very wrong 2 eat like that cos she's susceptible 2 anemia especially iron defiency anemia & the stomach is empty all the time & suddenly it will b filled & that will lead 2 some gastric problems

interesting case thx 4 it bcmf/thmbup.gif
