Thanks to dear friend & brother, Bassam Waleed... now we have our GMAIL based email that goes like this:

YourName@thebcmf.com



HOW COOL IS THAT?!


Here are the main advantages of having a GMAIL based email:

• 2 Gigabytes of storage space (and counting!!!) [Google's goal is to make their email storage space unlimited ]
• Fast browsing and easy access to your emails
• Easy to search and find the messages u want
• Ability to use Google Talk, which is the google messenger known to be very simple and efficient.
• FREE POP3 (my personal fav ) this means that you can use programs like Outlook to manage your emails (like the good old Uruklink days )

and so many more!!!

How to have an email @thebcmf.com?
It's easy, just email me (admin@thebcmf.com) with those three info:

1. First Name
2. Last Name
3. Username (which will be the part before the @ ).

and of course when you email me plz tell me who you are and what's your nickname at the forum.
It's preferrable that you post a reply here (not necessarily with the info), just a reply, so I make sure that it's you who sent the email.

Afterwards, and within a couple of days, you will receive an email that has the info u need, mainly the temporary password which you would have to change upon your first log-in.

I assure you that there's no way that I can know your new password, so your privacy is 100% protected


How to access youremail@thebcmf.com?
Take a look at the upper right edge of this page, ha? seen it yet? yes... it's that mail icon , click on the word Mail next to it and you'll be taken to a new, secure login page.

The Mail link is available on each and every page of the forum.

One important note though:
This service from the wonderful Google comes with a limited number of emails (since it's a beta service) which means unfortunately we can not give all BCMF members their own email, so if you feel like you don't really want one, I ask you to give that place to others who may actually use it.

"Limited" is something around 150 emails...
No underscore "_" is allowed in the username

but may i ask what's the differences b/t @gmail.com and @bcmf.com??

i want to tell u one thing..i have yahoo, hotmail, gmail, maktoob, coolchannel (previously) mails,..among all these the best one for me is yahoo..but if u want arabic mail use maktoob..also it has 1 exclusive advantage: in its inbox..u can see the unread email from yahoo,hotmail,aol,gmail..

did u try maktoob??

Hello again my friends....

I think many of you don't know how to configure your account to be used with Outlook Express, which is a very good feature in gmail... so here r the steps:

First you have to enable POP in your account:

1. Log in to your Gmail account.
2. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
3. Click Forwarding and POP in the orange Mail Settings box.
   
4. Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
5. Choose the action you'd like your Gmail messages to take after they are accessed with POP (I prefer setting it to "Keep Gmail's copy in the inbox".
6. Click Save Changes.

Now, you have to configure your Outlook Express:

1. Download Gmail Auto-Configuration Tool
2. Run it, and fill the fields:
   
   • Type the email address u got from thebcmf.com till the "@" (for example my email is admin@thebcmf.com, I'd only type " admin " in that field).
   • Type your Display Name which is what will be shown as "From" to your email recepients.
3. Start Outlook Express, you'll see a small window asking you to enter username & password, click Cancel.
4. Goto Tools -> Accounts then click Mail.
5. You'll find your account there, click on it then click Properties
6. Now change @gmail.com in the first field to @thebcmf.com.
7. Change E-mail address from @gmail.com to @thebcmf.com
8. Click Servers and make changes in the field of Account address so that @gmail.com becomes @thebcmf.com.
9. Click OK then Close (in the accounts window).

Now click on Send/Receive
Enter your password and your messages will be downloaded...

Well, I haven't used my BCMF email till now cuz i couldn't !!

When i sign in to my account this is what i get :

I don't know whether it is a connection problem or what..

Unfortunately it's a connection problem, if you are using the same provider all the time, I suggest you try another one (buy a different internet card).
