In the world now, the "Achilles' heel" has come to mean a person's principal or main weakness.
In Greek mythology, Achilles أشيل was a Greek hero of the Trojan War حرب أو حصار طروادة.
When Achilles mother asked the Gods to make her baby's body invincible, they agreed and told her to just dip him in the sacred river of Styx, and all would be fine.
She did that but unfortunately held him from the heel when dipping him, and the back of his heel therefore became the only weak part on his body.
The Trojan war started when the young Prince Paris of Troy fell in love with the young queen Helen of Sparta أسبرطة
Helen ran away with Paris to Troy, leaving her much older husband, king of Sparta, behind. That started the war.
Achilles killed Prince Hector, who was Paris's brother. Hector was the best warrior in Troy.
The much weaker Paris then took revenge and killed Achilles with one poisonous arrow hitting his only weak spot, the Achilles heel.
You must see the film (Troy). It is rather good. I did not like Brad Pitt until I saw him on this film. He played Achilles.
