I started this thread just to draw your attention to vote for Shatha cuz she's from Iraq. I haven't watched the show more than 15 mins for ALL the season and that indicates I don't like it at all. Infact I consider it silly. I didn't watch the prime as well. All that mattered to me is that the Iraqi girl doesn't get disqualified. This doesn't mean that I contempt the show or regard the contestants attitude as inappropriate all I'm saying I don't like the show and that has nothing to do with the fact whether it's bad or not.

What I'm inarticulately trying yo reach here is that you might watch something on TV and at the same time you don't like it and don't want to be like the people on that show. For example, I despise boxing I think it's too brutal to be categorized as a sport and even if I had the physical qualities and talent I wouldn't be a boxer but if there was an Iraqi boxer in the Olympics I would be impulsively and instinctively a diehard supporter of his.
The same thing applies here I wouldn't participate in Star Academy nor would I approve it if my sister wanted to but I will support any Iraqi on the show as much as I'd support the boxer.
I embrace all Iraqis and back them up even if we had different stanpoints.

I wouldn't sell cigarettes (kill people) for living but I don't say that anybody who does so is bad. I have an uncle who imports cigarettes to Iraq and I love him.

Now I'll give you one more vivid example and ask you something. You see I don't like the idea of drinking alcohol either from a religious or a non-religious standpoint and I wouldn't have a sip under any circumstances. Would I be acting paradoxically if I had a friend, work partner, or a roommate who is a drinker given that I can avoid being affiliated with this person??
As I see it, hell no that wouldn't make a paradox and if he needed a charactor reference, a recommendationm or a good word I would give that honestly regardless of the fact he's a drinker eventhough I might spent ages persuading him to give up drinking.

But what I was stressing on is that you shouldn't can't attack, criticize, or denounce something and at the same you are affiliated with, watch, or suppport it.
I don't despise Shatha, the boxer, my uncle, or the drinker I just leave them do what they wanna do and I wouldn't be one of them. And if a friend of mine wanted to buy a pack of cigarettes I would recommend the brand my uncle imports

I just accept everybody and try to live with them in perfect harmony. And the reason why our society and country is falling apart is that the majority of our people are not doing so. Period.

Well frankly i'm not a fan of star academy but if an iraqi is in the final prime i think we should support her, it's like the National Iraqi team even if u r not a fan of football i'm sure u support Iraq in the last Olympics for example
